Septic service areas around Phoenix
Septic systems in the valley sit mostly on larger lots at the edges, where city sewer lines don't reach. We take requests from across Maricopa County and northern Pinal County.

Maricopa or Pinal County
Most of the valley is in Maricopa County, whose Environmental Services department handles septic permits, records and ownership transfers. San Tan Valley, Gold Canyon, most of Apache Junction and the eastern and southern edges of Queen Creek are in Pinal County, where septic permits go through the Aquifer Protection Division of Community Development. The rules for selling a home on septic are statewide either way. See home-sale inspections.
