Sewer or septic?

Homes on larger lots, older properties and many homes at the edges of Apache Junction are on septic. If you don't pay a sewer bill, you're probably on septic, but check the county's permit records to be sure.

In Gold Canyon, Liberty Utilities runs the sewer system, with about 8,600 connections. Homes outside its service area use septic.

Which county handles your system

Most of Apache Junction and all of Gold Canyon are in Pinal County, where septic permits go through the Aquifer Protection Division of Community Development. The small part of Apache Junction in Maricopa County goes through Maricopa County Environmental Services. Your property tax bill shows which county you're in.

Home sales
